Main Duties of the Job

We seek an individual with strong communication skills to interact effectively with colleagues, patients, and medical staff. Responsibilities include providing operational support for children with epilepsy, supporting all administrative aspects of the patient pathway, and offering essential administration services to the Epilepsy Team. Additionally, participation in administrative support for MDT meetings and ensuring patient management aligns with NICE guidelines is crucial. Quality assurance and NHS expertise are also part of the role's responsibilities.

This position requires handling admin and clerical tasks relevant to the Service, including audio typing of clinic letters. Working autonomously, demonstrating initiative in decision-making, prioritizing tasks, and supporting seamless service operations is essential. Detailed Job Description and Main Responsibilities

  • The post holder will collaborate within a multidisciplinary team guided by the Clinical Lead for Paediatrics Epilepsy and the Care Group Support Manager, providing administrative support for Paediatric Epilepsy management.
  • Engage with paediatric epilepsy network administration colleagues to ensure alignment with National Guidelines and compare service standards against local and national benchmarks.
  • Organize and maintain paperwork for services and programs, facilitating transition plans and clinics by liaising with the adult administration team.
  • Responsible for information dissemination through various communication channels, managing correspondence with GPs, caseload, and utilizing methods like telephone, letter, and email.
  • Handle care plans by scanning, saving, evolving, and distributing them to relevant recipients such as special school nurse, parents/carers, and respite.
  • Tracking medication prescriptions, updating patient demographics, recording new patients across multiple platforms to ensure accurate data management.
  • Support services, templates, and capacities by managing clinic bookings, requesting appropriate clinic codes, and organizing sessions on the Trust PAS system.
