To direct the development and deployment of the Network Rail Southern Region's Assurance Strategy , a key element of the Regional Governance, Risk, Assurance and Improvement (GRAI) framework.

To develop and deliver the Integrated Assurance Plan (IAP) for the Region, taking into consideration the National, Regional, Legal, Statutory and Regulatory and any other relevant requirements, to providing confidence and insight to the Regional Executive and Senior management team for the successful delivery of the Region's objectives.

Develop, Maintain and Deliver a risk based Integrated Assurance Plan for the Region.

Lead the delivery of the Regional 2 nd line assurance activities to provide confidence to external stakeholders and Network Rail leadership of adherence to the governance framework/s.

Lead collaboration with the DfT, ORR and other relevant Network Rail functions regarding the integrated assurance model to reduce duplication of assurance activity, enable appropriate sharing of intelligence, identify and agree resolution of common issues, increase confidence in the Region delivering in accordance with relevant policies, processes and standards.

Develop and maintain Regional assurance processes for inclusion into the Regions Business Management System.

Collaborate with the GRAI Leadership team to deliver the overall GRAI Strategy for the Region, leading to the reduction of risk, clarity of roles and responsibilities and continuous improvement.

Lead on the consolidation, reporting and analysis of key performance data, non-compliance indicators identification of underlying causes impacting on Regional performance.

Lead and facilitate the identification and transfer of good assurance practice throughout the Region, reducing risk and improving effectiveness and compliance.

Analyse Network Rail and Regional Assurance activities and determine systemic issues, establish Lessons Learnt, develop improvement plans and introduce effective tracking mechanisms .

Successful development and management of an Integrated Assurance Plan in a large and complex organisation and/or in the rail industry.
