Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary (HPB) Associate Clinical Nurse Specialist

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our hepato-pancreato biliary cancer team at The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre Liverpool as a Band 6 associate Clinical Nurse Specialist.
This is a 12 month fixed term post as it will be covering for maternity leave.They will act as a keyworker and support the co-ordination of patient care along the treatment pathway.
They will play a key role in the development and co-ordination of services with the aim of optimising patient care
Deliver evidence based individualised patient care according to patients changing health care needs, through holistic needs assessments (HNA)
The specialist nursing team is a progressive, dynamic team, keen to build our research capability, be leaders in cancer care and at the forefront of delivering outstanding care to our patients.
We are seeking highly motivated nurses with cancer care knowledge and experience who are looking to gain more knowledge around this particular tumour group.
Attend Speciality outpatient clinics in order to meet patients and their carers and provide relevant information to support their treatment
Provide psychological support and make referrals to relevant professional when appropriate
Act as key worker for a clinical caseload, working to coordinate care and provide easy access for ongoing support for patients
Liaise with the speciality research nursing team accordingly
Accurately document patients care in accordance with trust policies and standards
Act in accordance with the NMC code and other supporting documentation

Degree in healthcare related subjectEvidence of continued professional development
Psychological skills training - Level 2 or above
Advanced Communications Skills Training
Patient group directions training
Level 7 qualification in cancer/palliative care or relevant clinical subject
Relevant post registration experience in cancer, palliative care or the specialty
