This is an exciting opportunity to join the Defence Infrastructure Organisation which is a business unit within the MoD and is 2 years into a contract change with the Future Defence Infrastructure Services (FDIS). FDIS incorporates three key principles of Excellent Performance from Suppliers and DIO, Empathetic handling of Customer and Families and Improved Customer Communications. The post of Housing Estate Officer is multifaceted and necessitates tasks carried out at both the desktop and on the MoD Estate.

The successful candidate will be a motivated, self-starter who is able to manage and prioritise workloads according to contract deliverables and risk based analysis and to establish relationships with a wide range of stakeholders. Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships that promote collaboration between a range of stakeholders that support continual improvement. Forward thinking, ability to see the bigger picture with an awareness of sustainability concepts, able to produce novel ideas that contribute to the 'lived experience'. An awareness of contract compliance principles that drive performance results and a determination to change and improve especially when difficult situations arise. Demonstrate a personal dedication to the DIO Guiding Principles and 'Safety First' value. The post will include travelling to the business areas with the use of government provided vehicle.

Person specification

The post of Housing Estate Officer is multifaceted and necessitates
tasks carried out at both the desktop and on the MoD Estate.
  • The post will include travelling to the business areas with the use of government providedvehicle.

  • Contract deliverables assurance both on and of the Estate.
  • Stakeholder engagement.
  • Coordination of activities that support Private Finance Initiative (PFI) property management including, where necessary,conducting move in and move out appointments.
  • Property inspections to determine condition and inspection of building works.
  • Support to resolution of complaints.
  • In occupation queries and working with supply chain partners to resolve difficulties.
  • Total patch management with strong emphasis on improvement strategy.
  • Identification of supply chain capability gaps and drive to develop innovative ways of working.
  • Ensure local compliance with legislative and mandatory requirement.
  • Management of billable works.
  • Identification of works that support future programming and capital investment.
  • Support the Housing Estate Manager with ad hoc business management tasks.
  • Management of New Build Development Properties (Capital Purchase)
Licences
Full UK driving licence is required due to travel to housing estates andindividual properties not all of which are accessible by public
