By the time you have completed your year placement you will have gained invaluable experience and knowledge of core Operational tasks as well as universal and sought after skills like LEAN, Project Management, Operational Excellence, Complaint Handling and Customer Service.


Day to day:

  • Learning and undertaking a wide range of daytoday operational processes tasks such as; Financial Amendments, Settlements, Quoting, Operational excellence projects
  • Creating and Amending Processes considering LEAN and Continuous Improvement Principles
  • Handling Complaints and other Customer Service Tasks
  • Managing 12 large scale projects, to work on across the placement
  • Establishing and testing financial controls
  • Presenting to the AF Management Team your findings and thoughts for the Intern Program

Essentials:

  • Applicants need to have the right to work in the UK
  • Office is in a rural location not easily accessible by public transportation, please keep in mind before applying.
  • Applications will need to be working at a 2:1 or above, ideally in Finance, Economics, Banking or any other related degree however open to any.

Competencies and skills:

  • Be keen to learn the daytoday skills required to work in Operations
  • Be able to work on your own initiative, once fully trained and confident in the task, reaching out for guidance as required
  • Be enthusiastic to get the job done
  • Be a confident communicator, whether working remotely or in the office
  • Have an eye for detail ensuring accuracy, this is imperative when working in an Operations environment

Good to know:

  • Reports to the Operations Manager.
  • Office Location: Abbey Park, Stoneleigh (near Kenilworth)
  • Hybrid working (minimum of 2 days per week in the office)


All the time, you'll have an assigned manager on hand, who'll provide you with expert advice when you need it.

They'll help you make the most of the opportunities on offer, give you experience to be able to complete your degree, and lay the foundations for your long-term career.

Your training will be on-the-job, so you'll gain practical skills and knowledge first-hand from day one. You will receive feedback on your work and coaching to help you improve. You will bring new ideas and experience to the department and wider company.
