We are hiring an Accounts & Payroll Assistant in Sunderland Company:

This hybrid role offers the flexibility of both home and office working, complemented with study support if needed. Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, the Accounts & Payroll Assistant is crucial for ensuring smooth payroll operations and providing accurate support to the Finance team.

Job Description:
  • Process weekly payroll and handle associated admin tasks
  • Assist in month-end accounts production
  • Prepare and execute journals
  • Forecast cashflow
  • Reconcile monthly balance sheets
  • Complete VAT returns
  • Support financial reporting for the FD and Finance Manager
  • Perform ad-hoc tasks as delegated by management
Key Requirements:

The ideal candidate should have:

  • Minimum 2 years of accounting experience
  • Proven expertise in payroll processing and knowledge of related legislation
  • Proficiency in Excel and SD Worx systems (preferred)
  • Educational background to GCSE level including Mathematics & English
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities
