About our team:
We are looking to hire a Senior Natural Environment Officer who will focus on offering specialized advice on ecological matters.
The role involves creating and maintaining policy documents to guide future development in the area and supporting monitoring activities for the Planning Service.
Main Responsibilities:
- Contribute proactively to the effective delivery of the Planning Service.
- Ensure excellent customer service for internal and external stakeholders including Councillors.
- Provide timely support to members of the public seeking to engage with the Planning Service.
- Handle customer complaints and feedback professionally and within set standards.
- Support the organization's place shaping agenda by facilitating appropriate development.
- Offer technical advice to various parties involved in development proposals.
- Deliver high-quality ecological advice to relevant services across the organization.
- Prepare and present natural environment advice at meetings and site visits.
- Maintain a balance between nature conservation and supporting growth and sustainability.
- Assist in the development and review of the Local Plan.
Experience:
- Full Member of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management.
- Prior experience in local government providing ecological advice.
- Relevant undergraduate and postgraduate qualifications.
