- Managing a mixed caseload of children in a range of circumstances
- Assessing children and families, devising tailored plans to address identified needs
- Promoting children remaining with their families or carers through preventing family breakdowns, and reuniting children separated by temporary crisis
- Working pattern will generally reflect standard office hours, with some flexible working as required
- Working directly with children and families at the point of crisis, ensuring children are prioritised
- Applying locally agreed thresholds for intervention, stepping cases up and down when appropriate
- Degree in Social Work, Dip SW, CQSW, CSS or Masters
- Social Work England Registration or equivalent i.e. Registration with the SSSC
- Driving Licence and access to vehicle
- Enhanced DBS check or equivalent e.g. PVG (Scotland)
- Experience of Child Protection and Safeguarding
- Experience of working with children and families
- Demonstrable risk assessment skills
- Ability to understand and be sensitive to emotional difficulties, and to address challenging behaviour of children
- Ability to undertake family assessments
- Understanding the impact of the 'toxic trio' on children and families
- Due to the nature of this role and localities covered
- A rate of £26-£37 per hour depending on experience, with salary paid weekly

- Mileage expenses for travel incurred undertaking the role
