They are pioneering a novel generation of protein homeostasis modulators, leveraging a distinctive chemistry platform technology and therapeutic approach.This breakthrough enables them to surpass the limitations of current protein degradation and stabilization technologies, paving the way for new oral therapeutics in areas with significant unmet medical needs.
Role Summary
The company is seeking two scientists with a strong background in cell and molecular biology to join their growing Biology team.
This lab-based position requires on-site presence 4-5 days per week at their recently opened Hammersmith facility and reports to the Principal Scientist of Biology.
The successful candidates will be part of a team of experienced scientists investigating the mechanisms of action of the company's protein homeostasis modulators and validating key biological targets.
This role offers the opportunity to develop skills and knowledge while working in one of the most exciting fields of drug discovery, positively impacting the lives of patients.
Key Responsibilities
Key responsibilities of this role include:nDesign and execute assays to characterise the mechanisms of action of our protein homeostasis modulators.nSet up chemical, molecular, and genetic approaches to support target validation.nAccurately capture experiments and results in electronic record.nCommunicate data at internal and external meetings.nContribute to the day-to-day management of the lab.
BSc/MSc with 3-4 years of experience or PhD in a relevant field of biomedical science, molecular biology, or cell biology.
Extensive experience working on cancer targets.nInvestigated target functions using molecular biology techniques and various assays (e.g., Western Blot, cloning, cell line generation, CRISPR, qPCR).nPreferably has some exposure to working with animal models.nConducted target identification using advanced models (e.g., primary cells, organoids, cocultures).nProficient in assay development (e.g., cell death, imaging) and experienced in a wide range of laboratory methods.nExperienced in screening compound libraries for active compounds.nExperience in the field of targeted protein degradation (Desirable).nExcellent data analysis and recording skills as well as oral and written communication skills.nAbility to work within a team environment and to build strong working relationships.
