Job Introduction

Rapport is recruiting for a Data Specialist to work closely with one of our prestigious clients based in the heart of the City of London.
The role is 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday based in London with UK wide travel expected.

Main Responsibilities
The Data Specialist will be responsible for data gathering, visualisation and interpretation of data.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Work with stakeholders to understand their data and reporting needs, using the different platforms and other tools to develop and maintain the capabilities to aid them in their daytoday decision making.
  • To build strong relationships to ensure datadriven decisions are taken at all levels.
  • To develop processes that are scalable, automating wherever possible, and providing clear and repeatable documentation.
  • To develop, improve and maintain data products, selfservice tools, reporting and statistical analysis that unearth business insights.
  • Understand data governance and help deliver a compliant data service.
  • To build reports to support the delivery of insight back to the internal business.
  • Understanding and interpreting data to drive actionable insights to achieve commercial and strategic business objectives
  • Work closely with the senior leadership team to identify and help to solve key business problems.
  • Supporting functions such as finance to report on the success of projects and build more accurate forecasting models
  • Over time, work with the wider data team to integrate the other sources of data and analytics we collect to build a more rounded understanding
  • Facilitate data modelling, data cleansing, and data enrichment, and understand where to use different types of data models, industryrecognised datamodelling patterns and standards
The successful Data Specialist will have a structured and analytical profile, simplifying complex projects and delivering business objectives in a systematic fashion

  • Motivated by impact and ensuring your work generates real commercial outcomes
  • Able to connect the dots between business goals, technology/data capability and stakeholder needs
  • At least 2 years previous experience working in a role with a strong BI, insights or analytics component
  • A team player who takes energy from working with others to solve big, key problems; communicating effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization
  • Effective at prioritisation and able to work independently; have an eye for the highimpact initiatives over others
  • Strong stakeholder management skills
  • Strong ability to work with SQL and in Excel and a quick learner on selfserve analytical tools (e.g. Looker)
  • Prior experience in using Looker and Google Big Query would be an advantage, but not a deal breaker.
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
  • Able to use multiple systems and multitask in a fastpaced environment
