About the role


The Team Leader position within the Family Wellbeing Team for the Supporting Families Programme in North Somerset Council offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the Early Help Supporting Families work.

The role involves direct line management responsibilities, overseeing project and support workers and ensuring supervisions, appraisals, and team meetings.

Key responsibilities include managing the Supporting Families Programme, developing project plans, overseeing Family Support Workers, and maintaining robust governance and monitoring arrangements.

The Team Leader will engage with multi-agency partners and stakeholders, while also handling financial management and reporting on funding and budget streams.

An excellent understanding of safeguarding, financial management, and supporting community and partnership projects is essential for prospective applicants.

About you

To be successful you will:

  • Be qualified at Level six or above in the relevant field. With leadership and management experience.
  • Have experience with working with children, young people, and families within the Early help arena as well as families facing more challenging circumstances.
  • Have leadership and
  • Have a good understanding of the Supporting Families programme, with the ambition to drive and deliver the programme.
  • Be able to understand and process data reporting and have an analytical approach for planning.
  • Be competent in managing budgets, funding forecasts and payment by results.
  • Have a strong commitment to working in partnership with multiagency professionals.
  • Have strong organisational and planning skills.
  • The ability to work to deadlines.
  • Have good interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships.
  • Work well within a team and on your own initiative.
  • Work in a way which is considerate to anti discriminatory practise.
