About the trust


George Eliot Hospital NHS Trust provides a range of elective, non-elective, surgical, medical, women's, children's, diagnostic and therapeutic services to a population of more than 300,000 people.

The hospital opened in 1948.

The hub of the Trust is located on the outskirts of Nuneaton and its services cover a large footprint, including north Warwickshire, southwest Leicestershire, and north Coventry.

The Trust also provides a range of community services, delivered across Coventry, Warwickshire and Leicestershire.

These include sexual health and community dentistry services for the whole of Warwickshire as well as hosting the Blue-Sky Sexual Assault Referral Centre.


This is a Temporary role.

Duties will include:

  • Maintain staff rotas, making temporary adjustments to provide an efficient service.
  • Process all annual leave requests ensuring minimum staffing levels are maintained.
  • Monitor catering and cleaning standards, ensuring remedial action is implemented as required.
  • Ensure that Hotel Services Manager and ward Managers are kept up to date with issues which may affect staff welfare or service levels.
  • Provide emergency cover in the absence of Ward Hostess staff.
  • Liaise with users of the services regarding quality issues.
  • Assist with recruitment and selection of staff.
  • Participate in implementation of disciplinary and grievance procedures.

Skills Required:

  • Previous supervisory experience
  • Excellent telephone manner
  • Good understanding of Microsoft office
  • Computer literate
  • Excellent communicator
  • Experience leading a hygiene and domestic team
