Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide clinical and professional leadership to Specialist Screening Practitioners
  • Manage day-to-day operations of the SSP team
  • Lead training and development of SSPs to provide expert knowledge to colleagues and patients
  • Prioritize workload and plan SSP activities to meet service requirements
  • Communicate effectively and influence service development

Person Specification:

Qualifications

  • RGN
  • Diploma
  • Post-registration qualification in specialty
  • Teaching and assessing certification

Experience

  • Diverse clinical experience with a focus on specialty
  • Engagement in service enhancement and change implementation
  • Experience in health promotion and policy development

Knowledge

  • Understanding of Information Governance and equality issues
  • Familiarity with NHS targets and cancer screening priorities
  • Knowledge of patient group needs and relevant national guidelines

Skills

  • Proficient in nursing care assessment and implementation
  • Effective communication skills with various patients
  • Basic IT proficiency
  • Ability to work independently and manage workload efficiently
  • Strong interpersonal skills in a healthcare environment

Other

  • Ownership of reliable car and full driving license for travel between screening sites
  • Advanced Communication course completion preferred
