Are you passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of students with Autism? If so, an exciting opportunity awaits you in a school located in Winchester, who are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join their team as an Autism Support Worker.
As an Autism Support Worker, you will play a pivotal role in providing personalised care and support to students with autism. This permanent position offers a unique chance to contribute to the well-being and holistic development of those on educational health care plans.
Responsibilities:
- Implement personalised care plans, following lesson plans set by the teacher to meet the unique needs of students.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive environment that encourages independence and personal growth.
- Utilise effective communication strategies to build rapport and trust with students with autism.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including class teacher and staffs, to ensure holistic support.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of students' progress and activities.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as an Autism Support Worker in school or similar role is preferred.
- Understanding of autism spectrum conditions and evidence-based support strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt to the dynamic needs of students with autism.
- A compassionate and patient approach to supporting students with diverse needs.
