To assist in the provision of an efficient and effective service to support client engagement through the delivery of day-to-day services within the Project and the community to clients who are managed under MAPPA arrangements, accommodated via our Ministryof Justice contract.

The service aims to engage with clients to reconnect with communities and develop independent living skills and help clients to live crime-free lives.

To support Clients to achieve the aims laid out in their Care/Support Plan.

Main duties and responsibilities

  • To key work and support clients generally within your project, and to act as the Key Worker to designated clients managed under MAPPA arrangements
  • To take an active role in the assessment and management of risk including the operation of physical and situational security measures to control the level of risk posed to the public, staff and other Clients. This may include administering drug/alcoholtests as requested by your manager.
  • To regularly fully utilise the Trust 'Client File' with designated clients to ensure that they are supported and empowered to achieve appropriate outcomes. To maintain confidentiality of client and staff data in line with Group procedure.
  • To provide support and guidance to fellow Support Workers to assist them in the safe delivery of the service, and to support them and fellow Key Workers in spending sufficient time with Clients to help them achieve the aims of their support/care plan.
  • To ensure that all medication within the project is managed in line with Trust policy and procedures
  • To regularly and consistently engage with clients in a prosocial manner, contributing to the positive environment of the accommodation. To ensure that Clients are able to participate as fully as possible in the life of the project
  • To manage client meetings and facilitate the Client Inclusion and Training representatives so that they are equipped to reflect the views of other clients at meetings.
  • To promote and support client involvement, manage complaints and seek resolutions.
  • To provide other staff and clients with relevant advice, support and training
  • To supervise and monitor the behaviour of Clients and to ensure that Clients comply with any statutory order including MAPPA expectations, occupancy agreement or house rules and to report deviations to your line manager promptly. To support prosocial behaviourand attitudes. To appropriately challenge and deescalate antisocial behaviour and attitudes and report to statutory organisations as required
  • To contribute to team work and practices. To take an active part in team meetings, ensuring that the team is fully briefed in relation to risk factors, changes in Client behaviour and debriefed following any incident
  • To assist in the management of the referral process within the project to achieve agreed occupancy levels.
  • To support the arrival and departure of clients. To ensure that both prospective and former residents are supported through visits and/or correspondence

Essential

  • Commitment to work for, and obtain, a qualification deemed relevant to the post, e.g. QCF Level 2 in Health & Social Care, Community Justice or similar
  • To undertake and update all Group mandatory training requirements for the role. As part of induction, it is mandatory that you successfully complete the Induction Workbook within the first 2 weeks of employment
  • Flexible attitude to rapid changes in task
  • Literate to write letters and reports
  • Numerate to complete statistical returns
  • IT literate with knowledge of Microsoft Office packages including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Be able to work in a challenging and demanding environment
  • Good listening and speaking skills
  • Able to deal discretely with delicate matters
  • Proven ability to work as part of a team
  • Reliable and able to manage own workload
  • Willing to undertake an enhanced DBS with adult barred list check which must be satisfactory to the Trust
