About the role

Positive Support Group work with children and adults who have a learning disability and/or autism and display behaviours that challenge. We are a dynamic group of dedicated professionals working in the community and hospital settings across the United Kingdom, with a history of achieving great outcomes for people with complex presentations.

We work in close collaboration with multiple agencies including Community Learning Disability Services, ICS/ICB's and Local Authority Services.

There are currently three work streams: Care (education) and Treatment Reviews, LeDeRs and Independent Life plans. However, the division is constantly growing and developing and are open to all contracts relating to transforming care.

Hold up to date knowledge of legislation, national and local policies, and issues in relation to both the specific client group, your professional qualification and Positive Behaviour Support.

About you

Qualifications

Registered Clinician, e.g. Behaviou Analyst UK SBA (Cert), Learning Disability Nurse in good standing with the relevant body. Occupational Therapist with experience working with people who have a learning disability and mental health needs. Social Worker with experience working with people who have a learning disability and Mental Health needs who also have a further qualification/experience in Health Care.

Experience

Working with children, young people and / or adults with learning disabilities, autism, and mental health difficulties.

Managing own calendar and review deadlines.

Carrying out high quality reviews (including but not limited to LeDeR reviews, Care and Treatment Reviews (CTR's), Out of Area Placement Reviews, Independent Life Plans). This includes in the role of clinical reviewer, chair and supervisor / mentor

Developing, implementing, and overseeing data collection systems.

Training others.

Report writing and sharing with key stakeholders (e.g., client, mediators, and network).

Demonstrate expert and effective practice in complex situations, working with and supporting colleagues to mitigate high levels of risk.

Provide a source of specialist advice and professional expertise for PBSC staff working within the transforming care agenda.

Identify barriers, changes to care delivery that may lead to negative outcomes or service deficits that may lead to behaviours that challenge, a breakdown / crisis which in turn may lead poor outcomes.

Be skilled at unlocking barriers or finding innovative and creative solutions to complex problems.

Self-starter who has excellent time management skills.

Ability to collaborate effectively across a MDT.

Visionary who will help identify ways to fill gaps and drive new business.

Stay up to date on public policy and best practices related to division.
