SOUTH MERSEY ARTERIAL NETWORK (SMART)

REGISTRAR (ST3+) IN VASCULAR AND ENDOVASCULAR SURGERY

Permanent Registrar post as part of the South Mersey Arterial Network (SMART). The Network wishes to appoint doctors who will be committed to working with the existing clinical workforce and wish to develop his/her interest in vascular and endovascular surgery as well as contributing to the ongoing development of the Regional Tertiary Centre, which is based at the Countess of Chester Hospital.

The successful applicant will join an existing team of twelve consultant vascular surgeons in the Network, six registrars and a number of junior medical staff.

The Registrar will be responsible for the day-to-day care of all patients under the Vascular Surgery Consultants. Provide experienced, specialist care, as part of a multi-disciplinary team. This includes the management of complex cases, reflecting on and reviewing patient care activities ensuring quality and safety improve continuously. The role requires involvement within teaching, training, research and the development of network and local services as appropriate to skills and experience.

This post will be a SMART Network appointment and their contract will be held at the hub, the Countess of Chester Hospital. The post will support and provide outpatient, day case and inpatient activity across the region as part of a Network role and the base for this post will be at the Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
