As a Due Diligence Senior Officer you will be responsible for gathering customer and payment information to make recommendations that help Starling Bank effectively manage risk.

You will have an expert understanding of financial services screening and due diligence practices, be able to complete risk assessments and be able to provide recommendations.

In this role you will have the opportunity to communicate with our customers and work closely with colleagues across the Bank to ensure that required customer and payment information is captured and documented appropriately.


Responsibilities:

  • Responses to case escalations from Due Diligence Specialists.
  • Supporting the management of workflow across the Due Diligence team.
  • Leading a team of Associates.
  • Receiving complex referrals where applicants or customers match to screening data (i.e. Sanctions).
  • Reviewing alerts triggered by routine customer screening activities and working closely with the Investigation team.
  • Risk assessing customer relationships and documenting Enhanced Due Diligence measures implemented to manage risk.
  • Submitting recommendations to Senior Management in relation to customer risk.
  • Reviewing alerts triggered by routine payment screening activities.
  • Completing due diligence on inbound and outbound high value payments.
  • Completing Know Your Customer refreshes based on event driven trigger points.
  • Receiving and responding to requests for information regarding payments.
  • Any other reasonable management request.

Requirements:

  • Detailed knowledge of relevant legislation and regulation.
  • Experience and detailed knowledge of completing due diligence on customer relationships for financial services products.
  • Experience and detailed knowledge of completing due diligence on inbound and outbound payment requests.
  • Experience using, and an understanding of configuring, automated screening tools.
  • Able to draw own conclusions based on relevant data and make the right decisions, considering both the business and customer outcomes.
  • Meticulous and organised with ability to manage own workload.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Enjoy working in a team environment.
