What you'll be responsible for:

  • Liaise closely with internal stakeholders to identify the Capital required to be purchased.
  • Identify suitable sourcing route to obtain the capital equipment including quotation or via a framework.
  • Place capital requisitions that are received via the appropriate trust system (i.e. Oracle/ Integra/ GHX and NHS Supply Chain)
  • Process the order through the system, ensuring the purchase order goes to supplier within a timely manner (unless over £10k then it goes to High Value Order Officer for review)
  • Liaise closely with High Value Order Officer ensuring relevant governance is in place. This shall include ensuring the waiver process is followed where required and the purchase order has the necessary information to proceed.
  • Ensure all contracts relating to Capital Purchases are accurately recorded and entered on to relevant register and/or database
  • Publication of awarded contracts to Contracts Finder above £25k (£10k for HPFT)

You'll learn the following whilst working at the trust:

  • An in depth understanding of the roles and responsibilities involved in working within the NHS
  • Knowledge of the systems used, to effectively complete your role to the highest standard at all times
  • A sense of teamwork, gained through working alongside and supporting colleagues from all levels, within the organisation
