Part time 15 hours over two days per week, Term Time Only.

We are recruiting for a caring and compassionate individual to provide 1:1 support to a 2 year old is deaf and uses a hearing aid and radio aid.
The position is term time only, Monday and Thursday 9.00am - 4.30pm. There is an option for more hours of work per week if preferred.


You will work 1:1 with our young boy, building a solid relationship and assisting him in accessing all areas of provision in our spacious nursery to allow him to thrive.


Responsibilities and Duties of SEN one to one

  • Have a high regard to Safeguarding and health and safety.
  • Providing high standards in teaching and exciting play experiences
  • Wear a radio aid to promote communication
  • Follow an individual support plan to help achieve targets
  • Laise with SENCO and his teacher of the deaf to ensure appropriate support is given to allow him to reach his next developmental milestones.
  • Promote positive relationships with parents, children and colleagues
  • Maintaining accurate and effective records of observation, assessments and next steps

Qualifications and Skills of SEN one to one

  • Preferably hold an Early Years SEN qualification
  • Have an understanding of intensive interaction style play and intervention.
  • Up to date working knowledge of EYFS statutory framework
  • Enthusiasm, selfmotivation and commitment combined with a real passion to provide outstanding childcare
  • Excellent communicator and team player
  • Ideally trained in additional educational needs, have some Makaton or BSL training
  • Be warm, caring and compassionate.
