Our client, a leading charity who provide specialist support to women involved in the Criminal Justice System, are looking for a Community Key Worker to join their team.


The role will include providing safe support and advocacy to women involved in the Criminal Justice system, aiming to reduce re-offending and empower women to lead safe, crime free lives.


Synopsis of duties:

  • Providing a service to support women involved in the CJS who have additional complex needs, such as: substance misuse and financial hardship
  • Offering support and advocacy to service users, aiming to encourage desistance among repeat offenders and empowering women to lead safe lives
  • Providing support to service users in the 12 weeks prior to leaving custody and preparing for release, through video/telephone and facetoface communication
  • Conducting risk assessments and safety planning
  • Attending probation offices across Kent, integrating with National Probation Service Staff and introducing the client to Minerva services
  • Developing strong relationships and networking with local support services and advocating on behalf of service users at multiagency meetings, including MARAC and IOM Panels
  • Responsible for keeping up to date with relevant legislation, policy and practices relevant to the role
  • Participating in supervision, training and meetings as required, in order to assist the development of the service

Requirements For The Position:

  • Proven track record of working with women who have been in contact with the Criminal Justice System who have complex needs such as: homelessness, substance misuse, domestic violence and mental health issues
  • A strong knowledge of issues faced by women offenders who are in and out of the Criminal Justice System
  • Experience conducting needs and risk assessments
  • Strong crisis management skills
  • Enhanced DBS and must have been either issued within the last twelve months or be registered on the update service

£15.00-£16.00 per hour
