Join our team at HMP Bristol as a Senior Nurse on night shifts and be part of the South West Prison Healthcare contract with Oxleas NHS trust.
We focus on delivering integrated healthcare services including Mental Health, Physical Health, Pharmacy and Clinical Substance Misuse to support prisoners' well-being and successful reintegration into society.

Main Duties of the Job
- Provide high-quality primary care services and specialized interventions for offenders.
- Maintain effective case management to ensure continuity of treatment during detention.
- Deliver clinics and consultations efficiently to promote health and prevent disease in the prison setting.

Job Responsibilities
Operational
- Support the delivery of an effective integrated healthcare service model.
- Manage a complex clinical caseload and adhere to National Standards for Health Care in Prisons.
- Ensure clinical services are delivered effectively and in a timely manner.
- Coordinate specialized treatments for prisoners, including injections and infusions.
Management
- Implement strategies to enhance health and prevent diseases through proactive collaboration.
- Maximize resources and delegate responsibilities effectively.
- Maintain case management for continuous treatment during detention.
- Develop care planning tools and ensure continuity of care post-release.
Human Resources
- Coordinate the Integrated Healthcare Team and provide clinical supervision.
- Ensure staff compliance with clinical policies and procedures.
Governance
- Ensure staff comply with medication management and maintain confidentiality.
- Uphold electronic record-keeping standards and offender confidentiality.
General
- Collaborate with Trust personnel and ensure a positive work environment.
