Senior SACT Nurse Opportunity at GenesisCare UK

At GenesisCare UK, we're seeking an experienced and skilled Senior SACT Nurse to join our dedicated team at our state-of-the-art cancer care centre in Bristol. As a Senior SACT Nurse, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality chemotherapy nursing services to patients, while also providing clinical leadership and support to our team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide specialist nursing advice and support to patients, their families, and other healthcare professionals throughout the treatment journey.
  • Ensure continuity of evidence-based nursing care for patients undergoing chemotherapy, assessing their health needs and developing effective care plans.
  • Work autonomously, providing clinical leadership and ensuring all patients have an accurate plan of care, which reflects their individual needs and circumstances.
  • Demonstrate advanced knowledge and skills in intravenous access, central venous catheter management, venepuncture, and chemotherapy delivery, including the management of anaphylaxis and extravasation.
Requirements:
  • Experience in intravenous drug administration and chemotherapy administration.
  • Sufficient post-registration nursing experience in oncology or a related specialty to be confident and competent in using the required skills.
  • Ability to work accurately and reliably under pressure, making decisions, organizing, and prioritizing tasks.
  • UKONS SACT Passport or willingness to complete within three months of appointment.
  • Full training and qualification in venepuncture and cannulations, with experience of working with different types of central venous access devices.
  • Recognition and management of neutropenic sepsis, with UKONs training and experience in oncology telephone triage.
