We are looking for a
Maintenance Person to work within our nursing care home, Barnfield Nursing Home located in Holmewood
, Chesterfield


As the Maintenance Person, you will positively promote excellent health and safety standards within and around the home, supporting the home manager to maintain a safe environment for residents in our care.


Duties:

  • Ensure the upkeep and maintenance of the Care Home and surrounding grounds;
  • Carrying out and recording mandatory checks, reporting any faults or anomalies to the home manager
  • Liaising with external contractors to ensure that servicing and repairs in the home are carried out quickly and efficiently.
  • Ensuring the smooth operation and serviceability of all services such as heating, lighting, plumbing and equipment required for the safe and efficient operation of the Home.
  • Work positively with the Home Manager to achieve outcomes for longerterm tasks such as refurbishment, nondaytoday servicing, redecoration etc.
  • Take an active role in the monitoring of any risk areas regarding the Homes operations and security and advise the Home Manager accordingly.
  • Maintain the home as a pleasant, friendly and secure place to live.

Required Skills:

  • A genuine interest in promoting independence and lifestyle opportunities for older people as well as being able to work unsupervised.
  • You will need to be confident and enthusiastic enough to carry out fault finding and basic repairs around the home.
  • Drivers licence

  • Provide leadership in maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Utilize mechanical knowledge to address repairs in various areas.
  • Welding tasks as needed for repairs and maintenance.

REQUIREMENTS:

Required:

  • Proficiency in electrical systems and repairs.
  • Strong English communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain equipment and facilities effectively.
  • Experience in customer service.
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise maintenance activities.

Nice-to-Have:

  • Previous experience in a maintenance role.
  • Knowledge of mechanical systems.
