We are currently looking for a Volunteer Support Officer with proven administrative and IT skills to join our busyVolunteer Support Department at Northern Area Sea Cadets.

This role involves acting as the first point of contact via email and phone for our volunteers providing warm andfriendly assistance. This role provides vital support to volunteers within our enrolment process as well asadministrative tasks that aid and celebrate our volunteers. Our successful candidate will be organised, a strongteam player and have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Support the adult volunteer applications to join the Sea Cadets, ensuring that personnel records are updatedaccordingly on our database
  • Review and approve applications for the Cadet Forces Medal
  • Respondto all volunteer enquiries received by MSSC by email, post and phone
  • Administer personnel formsassociated with volunteer progression

Requirements

  • Computer literacy: strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, email, internet and experience of web basedinformation systems
  • Experience of working in a customer focussed role, including handling a wide rangeof enquiries by phone and email, and handling challenging phone calls and emails
  • Experience of usingdata protection procedures
  • Experience of database inputting and records maintenance and management
  • Experience of setting up andusing Mail Merge to issue emails or letters

We have an exciting new opportunity for an individual who is passionate about community development lead andvolunteer coordination at The Salisbury Centre. We are recruiting a Community Development Lead and VolunteerCo-ordinator.

As our Community Development Lead and Volunteer Coordinator, you'll be instrumental in collaborating with ourcommitted community members, volunteers, centre attendees, and outreach initiatives. An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the University of Stirling Students' Union as Sports DevelopmentCoordinator to plan, coordinate and deliver our comprehensive sports development programmes, in conjunction withthe Sports President. You will manage and develop the Sports Administrator. You will also support sports unionmembers, with particular focus but not exclusively, in the areas of Club Development, Participation, Health andWellbeing and Finance & Funding.

We're looking for a talented and passionate individual to join our organisation. You'll be driven, using yourinitiative to support a wide range of organisational initiatives, programmes and projects. Specific duties ofthe role include:

· Strategic approach to development and delivery of BUCS, ensuring improvement and effective use of funding.

· Develop and implement a comprehensive plan (actions, targets, responsibilities and resources).

· Increase club membership and participation.

· Ensure clubs are accessible and inclusive to all participants.

· Contribute to the formulation of policy and procedures as required, in collaboration with other Coordinators.

· Design and deliver training for committee members of Sports Clubs.

· Effectively engage students and provide ongoing support and assistance where appropriate.

· Coordinate and deal with member discipline and complaints, contributing to effective process development.

· Assist in the recruitment of coaches to ensure quality of sports provision within clubs.

· Work in partnership with the University to provide opportunities for students to engage in physical activity andsports.

· Work closely with the Student Sport Development Officer on participation programmes for recreational sport.

· Develop mutually beneficial relationships with external partners, (BUCS, SSS, Community Clubs and NationalGoverning Bodies) to increase the range, and quality of sports provision and coaching services provided.

· Work with BUCS, SSS and National Governing bodies to promote volunteering opportunities.

· To monitor, evaluate and report on club activities and identify opportunities for growth.

· To be a mentor on the panel of the Tier 2 programme.

· Promote and evaluate student wellbeing through engagement with student sport and club activity.

· Plan and take forward projects and campaigns that aim to use physical activity and sport as a method of improvingHealth & Wellbeing whilst positively impacting on the student experience.

· Engage with Union, University and national campaigns and initiatives for establishing healthy and resilient studentcommunities.

· Embed innovative practices in engaging sports members with sustainability opportunities.

Finance & Funding

· Working with Sports President and Finance Manager to ensure club funds are managed appropriately.

· Oversee the effective running of the Sports Union budget.

· Responsibility for administration of funding requests for Coaches and Capital Equipment.

· In collaboration with Union colleagues deliver signature sports events such as Sports Ball and Varsity.

· Work with Stakeholders on the Kit Tender process.

Our Activity Centres provide innovative and person-centred services and support to veterans struggling with sightloss. This job exists in order to provide tailored support to veterans carrying out woodworking projects. Youwill work alongside the veterans to identify abilities, share ideas and plan projects within the activityCentre. You will ensure that the support provided is person-centred, tailored to their needs and is the rightsupport for them. You will support the leadership team to coordinate and manage the activities provided withinand from the Activity Centre which will support the overall wellbeing of the veterans and their families. Youwill work closely with colleagues across the organisation and external stakeholders to ensure that veterans canaccess the relevant support.
