Ambulance Care Assistant

Middlesbrough, Middlesbrough, United Kingdom YorMed Full time

Take on a fulfilling role as a YorMed Ambulance Care Assistant
aiding independent ambulance service based in Middlesborough & Gateshead

Our dedicated team of healthcare professionals are passionate about providing the highest quality of care to our patients.

We offer a wide range of services, including A&E and Urgent Care Ambulance Services,

Non-Emergency Patient Transport Services (NEPTS), Medical Cover for events and festivals, and Air and Ground Ambulance Repatriation internationally.

At YorMed, we pride ourselves on having a team of highly skilled and experienced staff who are supported by excellent management, training, and ongoing support.

As a CQC registered organisation, we maintain the highest standards of patient-focused care and customer service.

Our client base includes a diverse range of companies and organisations, from the NHS and local authorities to private event organisers and high-profile national charities.

Is This Your Ideal Role? Join Us as a YorMed Ambulance Care Assistant
Are you a caring individual who is passionate about helping others and being active in the community?

Perhaps you already have experience in the care industry but are looking for a role where you can work on-the-go?

If the sight of an ambulance fills you with excitement and a desire to help those in need,

then we have a fantastic opportunity for you as a YorMed Ambulance Care Assistant.

As an Ambulance Care Assistant, you will be working on the non-emergency side of the ambulance service (NEPTS),

transporting patients to and from hospitals, clinics and day centres for routine appointments.

You may also be required to transfer patients to different NHS Trusts and locations, potentially even across the country or internationally.

YorMed Ambulance Service is a rapidly growing company and we are now seeking to expand our team by recruiting Ambulance Care Assistants to work in the North-East.

We are particularly interested in hearing from individuals residing in the DH, DL, SR, TS and YO postcodes, to

help support our NHS contracts.

If you possess a genuine desire to make a difference in people's lives, we would love to hear from you.

Job Responsibilities and Requirements
Demonstrating high standards of patient care involves upholding patient dignity, respect, and privacy at all times.

Effective communication is key in delivering an empathetic service, ensuring that patients feel heard and understood. In addition,

it is important to be responsive to the individual needs of patients, while continually striving for service delivery improvement.

This requires a flexible approach, which may sometimes involve working beyond shift finish times to complete required tasks.

As part of a team, it is essential to work collaboratively to ensure patient-centered care and service.

Supporting the management team is also important in ensuring a well-led service by reporting any concerns or incidents and communicating these with line managers.

Providing a safe service is paramount and this requires the correct use of equipment and vehicles, as well as safe, comfortable, and courteous driving.

Maintaining infection prevention and control standards is also crucial.

In addition, knowledge of equipment use and care, timeliness of reporting completion or amendments to planned journeys,

and an understanding of patients' abilities (conditions/ limitations) are important aspects of the role. As a patient transport driver,

there will be occasions where you will need to move patients. A good knowledge of the local area is also desired to ensure efficient and timely journeys.
