Category Manager

As a Category Manager, you'll be responsible for managing contractual relationships between the business and stakeholders, playing a crucial role in procurement activities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Guide and support procurement activities according to company policies and regulations
  • Manage tendering processes for indirect purchases across multiple directorates
  • Negotiate and prepare contracts to meet business requirements
  • Liaise with Client Relationships & Contracts Team and DfT for contract approvals
  • Provide commercial and contractual advice when required
  • Act as the main contact with external legal advisors for contracts
  • Attend contract review meetings and provide management reporting
  • Assist in enhancing procurement policies and procedures
  • Support the Head of Client Relationships & Contracts to meet business needs
  • Communicate effectively in a challenging environment
Job Challenges:

Experience & Skills Required:
  • Demonstrated Category Management experience in large organizations
  • Familiarity with Utilities Contract Regulations
  • Proficiency in contract management and negotiation
  • Ability to interpret complex legal documents
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen
  • Experience collaborating with legal advisors
  • Negotiation and influencing skills
  • Manage conflicting deadlines with multitasking ability
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills
