Job Purpose:

Assisting with day-to-day administration tasks to support the Plant and Transport Department with logistics, operational needs and compliance. Plant-hire experience is desirable; however, on-the-job training will be provided.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Administration of all Plant & Transport Department paperwork
  • Preparation of regularly scheduled reports
  • Development and maintenance of a filing system
  • Recording information and maintaining various databases
  • Providing exceptional customer service and support to clients and colleagues
  • Building positive working relationships with clients, suppliers and colleagues
  • Carrying out Driving Licence checks
  • Handling motor vehicle, plant damage and theft insurance claims
  • Coordinating skip offhires to support job extensions and completions
  • Liaising with the company Store Person to ensure that stock levels are maintained in line with company needs

Health and Safety Responsibilities:

  • Cooperate with company in compliance with H&S legislation.
  • Comply with company policy and procedures at all times and lead by example.
  • Promote company policy and procedures.

Essential
Driving Licence

Previous experience in an administrative role

Confident and friendly telephone manner

Good customer service skills

Good knowledge of Microsoft packages; particularly Excel and Outlook

Excellent time management and organisational skills

Good written and verbal communication skills

Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work within a team as well as independently

A confident and flexible attitude

Ability to work under pressure to set deadlines and prioritise tasks

Attention to detail

Ability to maintain confidentiality of company or employee information

Willingness to learn and develop

Ability to see tasks through to completion

Desirable
Minimum 3 National 5's or equivalent

SVQ Business and Administration

Previous background in transport and logistics or plant hire would be an advantage

Off-hiring experience
