Wymondham, United Kingdom Norfolk & Suffolk Foundation NHS Trust Full time

Job summary

This role will be supported by a £12,000 relocation allowance 'Holiday of a lifetime scheme': Consultants and SAS doctors can bank/accrue annual leave over a period of up to 5 years, to facilitate an extended period of leave. The scheme enables the opportunity for planning a 'holiday of a lifetime' or extended paid break

We are currently recruiting for a part-time GP to work with the South Norfolk Memory Clinic to address the memory assessment waiting list that has developed in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Main duties of the job

The applicant must be a trained and qualified (GMC), non-consultant grade doctor with experience of working with older people with cognitive impairment and dementia.

The applicant would be expected to offer a combination of clinic based and/or domiciliary visits to meet the needs of the patient. The applicant would thereafter provide a detailed memory assessment report and develop and initiate a subsequent management plan.

Supervision in this role would be available from the consultant body in the locality, though a degree of independent working is expected. Over time it is anticipated that the applicant will be able to work on improvements regarding the quality of referrals received from primary care and other sources (audit/QI project).

The arrangement would be expected to be taken over 1 day (rather then 2 half day sessions) to maximise efficiency. The successful applicant would report to the Clinical Lead for Older People's Services (South/West Norfolk Care Group) - Dr J Miller.
