We are seeking a self-motivated, bright, and highly organised Practice Manager to carry out various secretarial tasks to ensure the smooth running of the Practice of a world-renowned Ophthalmology Consultant practicing in several central London Hospitals


You will be an integral part of an extremely busy practice delivering the highest quality service, where you will be valued for your skills and expertise.

The job offers flexibility of working from home one day a week. Ongoing support and training will beprovided.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • To provide a full clinical Secretarial service to the Consultant_
  • To provide a point of contact and support for patients having appointments, consultations, and clinical procedures
  • To deal with enquiries and requests from both consultant, patients, and other staff efficiently and courteously in a time effective manner.
  • To transcribing (Audio typing of clinic letters) and supporting outgoing correspondence and despatching outgoing letters/reports on time.
  • To ensure patient records, correspondence and communications with consultant and patients are maintained and kept up to date on the practice medical system.
  • To process payments / invoice and work with billing company to ensure accurate and time efficient billing.
  • To invoice and follow up on payments where necessary to ensure payments are made in a timely manner.
  • To be aware of your responsibilities under local Information Governance regulations and General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR).
  • To be current and in date with all Mandatory Compliance training modules, protocols and policies in line with CQC requirements.
  • To assist in keeping clinic premises tidy and secure

Essential skills and experience:

  • An enthusiastic, approachable, warm and confident person with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to put people at ease
  • Identify and proactively problemsolve issues in the practice and for patients
  • Extremely organised and methodical
  • A calm and articulate telephone manner and excellent written English (good spelling and grammar is essential)
  • Develop systems for more effective management of the Practice
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office (Powerpoint, Excel & Word)
  • Previous experience in the Healthcare sector would be desirable but not essential
  • Interest in working in a cuttingedge healthcare environment, providing the highest level of client service
  • DBS checked is must
