Roles & Responsibilities

Joining the team at the Theme Park Resort, specifically located in Chertsey, Surrey, as an Electrician focused on Facilities brings along exciting challenges and rewarding opportunities. In this role, reporting to the Facilities Shift Manager, you will play a crucial part in the maintenance and upkeep of all the resort's facilities and associated assets within your jurisdiction. Expect a hands-on position that involves handling all repair, installation, and modification tasks related to the park's assets and infrastructure. This includes ensuring that electrical test & inspect procedures, wiring standards, and safe isolation practices are meticulously executed to uphold compliance with existing regulations and internal policies.

As a key figure, you will serve as a role model, embodying a dedicated customer-centric approach. Your role includes fostering a culture of motivation, inspiration, and support within the Facilities team to consistently deliver outstanding operational results that go beyond our guests' expectations.

  • Planned Maintenance - Collaborate on conducting electrical safety and condition surveys and overseeing planned maintenance activities. This involves repairing existing components or crafting new ones to achieve optimal value for the resort, in alignment with predetermined schedules, installations/upgrades, and all pertinent ongoing maintenance tasks.
  • Reactive Maintenance - Responsiveness is key in handling breakdown scenarios and implementing necessary corrective measures. This can encompass addressing issues like electrical power failures, building works, plumbing mishaps, queue line repairs, carpentry tasks, and groundworks.
  • Adhere to maintenance schedules maintaining high product standards, operational excellence, and customer satisfaction levels. Timely response to "FM" requests and providing comprehensive handover to Facilities Management and operational DDMs.
  • Ensure that contractors comply with relevant legislation, codes of practice, and organizational protocols.

Qualifications & Experience

Skills and Expertise:

  • Demonstrates outstanding communication abilities
  • Physically capable of conducting manual tasks (specifically eyesight, hearing, and mobility)
  • Proficient in fostering a conducive team atmosphere
  • Skilled in motivating team members
  • Displays enthusiasm, passion, and a positive attitude towards the organization
  • Familiarity with the historical background of the Thorpe Park site
  • Post-apprenticeship experience in a relevant building services or engineering setting
  • Competent in interpreting and comprehending schematics
  • Experience with planned preventive maintenance methodologies
  • Familiarity with CAFM systems
  • Prior exposure to fundamental general trades tasks
  • Comfortable working outdoors in varied weather conditions throughout the year
  • Capable of working at heights when necessary
  • Compliance with appropriate personal protective equipment guidelines
  • Adaptable and flexible regarding shifts due to the Theme Park Resort's 7-day operational nature, including weekends/public holidays if business demands necessitate - maintaining a 40-hour workweek with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break
  • Must hold a valid driving license and be willing to travel to other business locations as needed
