Job Introduction
  • Gray Healthcare is seeking Male Mental Health Support Workers to assist a young man in his 20s, residing independently in Crewe, Cheshire (holding a full manual driving licence is a requirement as the individual has his mobility vehicle).
  • The young man has Learning Disability, Autism, and Epilepsy, leading to behaviors associated with sensory integration issues and autism. He requires support to maintain safety in his home, with 2 staff during the day and 2 overnight.
  • Communication is mainly non-verbal, necessitating staff trained in PECs to facilitate decision-making and aid in daily routines.
  • Occasionally, he may exhibit behaviors considered challenging as a means of expressing his needs.
Training
  • New recruits at Gray Healthcare undergo a week of training, a mix of online (company induction, systems, medication, etc.) and in-person sessions on PROACT-SCIPr-UK, a PBS approach emphasizing least restrictive practices. They also receive person-specific training, such as PBS, epilepsy management, and shadow shifts.
  • Continuous training is provided, fostering professional growth and development within the company.
Hours
  • Bank list positions offer flexible 0-hour contracts ideal for accommodating personal commitments.
  • Shifts are 12 hours long, covering 08.00 am - 20.00 pm days and 20.00 pm - 08.00 am waking nights.
About you
  • Candidates with prior experience in social care, particularly with autism exposure, are sought.
  • Requirements include holding a full MANUAL driving license, current Right to Work in the UK, and at least 6 months of previous UK employment (sponsorship not available).
