Main duties of the job

To provide specialistpsychological assessments of clients referred to the team based upon theappropriate use, interpretation, and integration of complex data from a varietyof sources including psychological tests, self-report measures, rating scales, directand indirect structured observations and semi-structured interviews withclients, family members and others involved in the clients care, asappropriate and commensurate with skill.

Tobe successful in applying for this role you will need:

Experience of workingwithin CAMHS

Use of Rio forrecording o would need RIO exp

Experince withworking with children with mental health needs

Ability to work ontheir own

Knowledge of thetheory and practice of specialised psychological therapies with clients withsevere and complex mental health problems

Knowledgeof legislation in relation to the client group and mental health

Registration with HCPC

Inaddition to experience, all Qualified roles will be required to provide evidenceof:

Roleresponsibilities:

To provide specialistpsychological assessments of clients referred to the team based upon theappropriate use, interpretation, and integration of complex data from a varietyof sources including psychological tests, self-report measures, rating scales, directand indirect structured observations and semi-structured interviews withclients, family members and others involved in the clients care, asappropriate and commensurate with skill.

To plan and implementformal psychological treatment and/or management of a clients mental healthproblems, based upon an appropriate conceptual framework of the clientsproblems, and employing methods of proven efficacy.

To implement a rangeof psychological interventions for individuals, carers, families, and groups,adjusting and refining psychological formulations drawing upon differentexplanatory models and maintaining a number of provisional hypotheses.

To evaluate and makedecisions about treatment options considering both theoretical and therapeuticmodels and complex factors concerning historical and developmental processesthat have shaped the individual, family or group.

To be responsible andaccountable for the assessment, treatment and discharge of clients whoseproblems are managed by psychologically based care plans.

To undertake riskassessment and risk management for individual clients and to provide advice toother professions on psychological aspects of risk assessment and riskmanagement.

To act as leadprofessional, where no other team member is involved, taking responsibility forinitiating planning and review of care plans including clients, their careers,referring agents and others involved the network of care.

Tocommunicate in a skilled and sensitive manner, information concerning theassessment, formulation, and treatment plans of clients under their care and tomonitor progress during the course of both uni- and multi-disciplinary care.

Tomaintain the highest standards of clinical record keeping including electronicdata entry and recording, report writing and the responsible exercise ofprofessional self-governance in accordance with relevant professional codes ofpractice and Trust policies and procedures.

Adhereto an agreed activity contract relating to the number of client contactsoffered, and clinical sessions carried out per week in order to minimisewaiting times and ensure treatment delivery remains accessible and convenient.

Completeall requirements relating to data collection within the service including useof routine outcome and patient experience measures.
