We are looking for a Deputy Team Manager for North Oxon Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS). You could be a Registered Mental Health Nurse, Social Worker, Occupational Therapist, Clinical Psychologist, Family Therapist or Psychotherapist; you would be supporting the Clinical Team Manager by undertaking both clinical and operational duties to ensure that we continue to deliver a high quality service to our children and young people.

We're an established team, growing with new investment into new roles. We are currently developing our service to improve the accessibility, responsiveness and excellent care that we provide to children, young people and their families.

You will be part of a dynamic local leadership team that meet frequently and work closely together; we're a supportive team with regular managers meetings and opportunities for coaching or mentoring.

Main duties of the job

In this role, you'll undertake mental health and risk assessments of children and young people within the Getting More Help Team. Depending on the needs of the child or young person (CYP) this could either be on an urgent or routine basis. Working collaboratively with CYP families/other agencies you will develop holistic plans of care which are evidence based.

You'll also hold a small clinical caseload which consists of key working and providing evidence based support. At present, we are achieving this on a hybrid basis, with a mixture of office working and working from home.

Another key component of this role, is taking part in the duty rota. This entails the clinician to respond and support plans for children and young people who are presenting with an element of risk and are waiting for our service.

Person Specification

training and qualifications

Essential

A recorded/registered qualification in one of the following - nursing, social work, occupational therapy, arts therapy or a psychological therapy Evidence of continuing professional development and maintenance of relevant professional qualification

Desirable

Professional knowledge acquired through degree/diploma A recorded/registered doctoral level qualification in clinical or counselling psychology with current HCPC registration Teaching/mentoring qualification Leadership training

Experiance

Essential

Significant post qualification experience in a mental health setting, working with young people with mental illness Experience of mentoring and clinical supervision of others

Desirable

Experience and understanding of working within the education setting Experience of working with children and young people who have serious mental illness and their families and carers in the community

Knowledge and skills

Essential

To have ability to manage case load and experience of acting as care coordinator for clients on a case list To be able to function as part of multi-disciplinary team and liaise with external agencies primary care, education, social and health care To have ability to assess client need, both mental health, health and social needs Ability to reflect on and critically appraise the performance of self and others Have ability to follow policy and make proposal for change Understanding of evidence based practice and the ability to demonstrate how this influences clinical practice Understanding of principles and methods of clinical audit, research and service evaluation Maintain patient records both written and electronic Can maintain professional standards and follow codes of practice Ability to and experience of teaching/training others, using a variety of complex multimedia materials suitable for presentations within public, professional and academic settings Ability to maintain effective working relationships with relevant parties To be IT / Computer literate
