  • Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Sunday on a shift rota basis
  • Shift Patterns: 7.00 am – 3.00 pm, 2.00 pm – 10.00 pm

Oxfordshire Support Service – Banbury provides supported living services for 6 young males who have learning disabilities and autism. We provide 24/7 support to some people, so you will need to have flexibility to work shifts between 07:00am - 22:00pm, nights, alternative weekends and Bank Holidays.

Your role
To assist the Service Manager and deputise in their absence, in managing a service that promotes user involvement and social inclusion by putting the people we support a the heart of everything we do and ensure this is provided in line with SeeAbility's operational policies and the regulatory framework and standards monitored by the Care Quality Commission.
To lead, motivate and develop a team to deliver support solutions that not only meet individual needs but produce extraordinary outcomes each and every day.

Deputy Service Manager will assist the Service Manager to ensure the running of a high-quality service to individuals with varying levels of support needs.

Your responsibilities
  • You will be delegated management tasks some of which and given off rota time to manage. Some of the delegated tasks will include rota management, 121s, training new staff, and leading the team to complete support plans, risk assessments and all the rest of the activity to enable individuals to achieve their outcomes. You will be expected to manage the service in the absence of the service manager.
  • As a Deputy Service Manager you will lead your team to provide extraordinary, person centred support, which is safe and maximises choice, dignity and independence as well as the achievement of individual goals, however small or large, each and every day.
  • Working in partnership with the people we support, their family, our specialist support teams and external agencies you'll champion skilful interactions, person-centred planning and partnership working to plan and implement professionally designed support plans that genuinely improve the quality of everyday life.
  • Acting as a role model and mentor to the team you'll facilitate the use of collaborative working, sound judgment and creative solutions to enable both them and the people we support to achieve individual goals and develop. You will manage staff performance, training and appraisals ensuring the team are equipped and motivated to deliver the best support possible.
To be successful in this role you'll be truly passionate about the provision of exceptional and person-centred support. You'll need to be an extraordinary leader with the ability to inspire, mentor and develop both your team and the people we support in to achieving extraordinary outcomes and will take personal responsibility for the quality of care and support delivered, both by yourself and your team, always striving to do what is right by the people we support.
Experience of working with people who have learning disabilities and/or visual impairment is also advantageous. In addition, you'll possess a current driving licence with the ability to travel independently as required and be able to work flexibly to respond to the needs of the service and partake in on call to provide emergency support include evenings and weekends.
You will be driving the person we support their car, so full UK clean drivers license is preferable for this role.
Who will you be supporting?
John* Has his own mobility car and enjoys getting out as much as possible. He attends the theatre regularly and enjoys concerts, music, and dancing. He is fluent in Italian and English and enjoys a good party.
Jack* is one of cheekiest people we support. He has a great sense of humour and a cheeky laugh to go with it and can be very affectionate asking for head massages and scratches, he loves sensory interaction.
James* Likes to refer to his bungalow as his NBC studio, he is the chief presenter, and some staff have their roles as writers and news readers. He enjoys ordering take away and going on holidays with our colleagues
Jake* Is a very independent person who leads a busy lifestyle. He is very spiritual and enjoys regular sessions of Pilates and Yoga. He is a very sociable individual and is often making plans with his neighbours and planning events with staff.
Jeffery* loves being out and about and goes out almost every day. He has regular activity days where he enjoys going to the cinema, swimming, and on the odd occasion trampolining. He enjoys music, having a good boogie He loves eating out and having stories read to him.
Joseph* is a very quiet individual who always likes peace and quiet. He spends his days in his room watching the birds in his garden. He lives a very simple, tranquil life.
