We are seeking a Health & Safety and Premises Officer to join our team at Humankind. In this role, you will play a crucial part in our determination to ensure we provide safe and well-maintained premises across our varied and diverse services in locations nationwide focusing on our Devon and Dorset premises.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Working within the Premises Team to organise repairs and maintenance, premises improvements and liaising with contractors to deliver a quality and best value services.
  • Providing health & safety advice and guidance to wide range of services that improve peoples lives
  • Undertaking a range of Health & Safety and Premises functions across our services focusing on the South West region, including condition surveys, Health & Safety audits, dilapidation surveys and planning refurbishments.
  • Monitoring compliance against health & safety standards
  • Investigating accidents and near misses
  • Producing risk assessments for a wide range of subjects and activities
  • Providing advice on good practice on DSE issues and setup
  • Supporting good practice in Fire Safety and monitoring compliance with fire safety standards
  • Contributing to creating a positive health & safety culture across the organisation.
  • Liaising with landlords regarding premises issues.

This is a full-time position, with 37 hours per week. You will work from our Magdalene House, Exeter office and be expected to visit our services mainly in Devon and Dorset. Hybrid working would be considered. The salary for this position is £24, - £28, per annum.

The salary advertised above demonstrates the full earning potential for this role, starting salaries will allow for pay progression within the pay band
