Site and Content Specialist


To maintain the overall health of the SharePoint sites by creating and managing lists and libraries, pages, user access, permissions, ensuring meta data is suitable and falls in line with compliance arrangements.

Supporting the creation and maintenance of modern and professional site pages within the bounds of the framework to ensure that our workforce have access to all the latest news and information to support them in their roles.

Also, coordinating and maintaining governance arrangements within similar electronic document management systems (EDMS).

Location - Reading/Basingstoke area

Salary - £Negotiable dependant on skills and experience (Part time and job share considered)

The role holder will be required to

  • Act as the main Point of Contact for SharePoint and EDMS requirements and queries, troubleshooting issues as they arise and creating effective and timely solutions.
  • Manage and maintain site access and permissions.
  • Create, manage, and maintain site lists and libraries.
  • Ensure metadata is applied to all SharePoint site content in line with company arrangements. Create SharePoint site pages and ensuring that content remains current.
  • Create and maintain associated Microsoft teams channels and any linkages to SharePoint sites.
  • Measure, monitor and report on EDMS performance and issues.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders to ensure requirements are understood and company procedures are followed. Produce and deliver training/awareness to personnel on the use of SharePoint sites and content requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with the company Enterprise Content Management (ECM) and Corporate Communications teams to ensure that company requirements and standards are maintained, and learning.
The role holder will have some of the following skills and attributes

  • Minimum A Level or equivalent in Business and administration or equivalent experience.
  • Extensive experience of SharePoint as a lead or administrator/ coordinator.
  • Able to work with remote teams, build relationships and be selfmanaged to deliver outcomes.
  • Minimum 12 years' experience in managing SharePoint and/or Electronic Document Management Systems (EDMS).
  • In Microsoft 365 packages incl. teams, power apps and other standard Microsoft packages.
  • In problem solving and solution delivery.
  • Able to build and maintain effective internal and external working relationships.
  • Coaching and training others to support understanding and awareness.
  • Capable of effective multitask working, identifying, and managing priorities and working to challenging time frames.
  • Excellent communication skills (oral & written) and able to articulate information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Excellent listening skills and capable of translating requests into action plans.
