What you'll do:

You will be responsible for initiating, fostering and representing the label externally with high-profile musicians and industry partners by establishing long term strategic relationships and creating awareness opportunities for the Label, the talent and the brand. That means developing and guiding the global vision and strategy for Marshall Records and ensure that the Record Label actions are in line with the overall brand goals. You will also own the implementation of the Marshall Record Label strategy: to bring direction and solutions for our music consumers touchpoints, partnerships, collaborations and commercial channels for both musicians and music lovers.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of Marshall Records and Marshall Records Publishing
  • Report label activities to management structure, artist teams, distribution network and stakeholders
  • Be the point of contact for artist, management and third-party team members
  • Create working budgets across artist roster and manage record label P&L
  • Drive the end-to-end process of an artist release campaign from recording through conceptualisation, distribution & marketing
  • Manage the asset creation such as LP, CD and Cassette layouts, advertising assets, video assets etc. Manage relationship with retail and digital distributors
  • Direct and liaise with finance, purchasing, warehouse and logistics for the smooth operations of the label
  • Produce royalty statements across the label and publishing company
  • Manage administration such as product and repertoire registrations, liaising with societies to ensure correct registration and manage e-commerce solutions
  • Negotiate and implement contracts with artists and suppliers
  • Manage the A&R approach for the label in collaboration with Brand, Culture, Creative and Regional teams
  • Source new business opportunities
  • Manage the creative process including design, content preparation and mastering through to delivery of finished artwork and production masters
  • Release management, physical manufacturing, logistics and stock control
  • In collaboration with internal marketing: manage advertising activities across digital, print, retail and OOH platforms, support in marketing campaigns and brand activities
  • Work with digital distributor to manage the digital playlist pitching strategy and managing label relationships with DSP's
  • Ensure Recording Artists represent Marshall Group products as and where appropriate

You probably have the following experiences & skills:

  • 5+ years of applicable working experience in recording industry, music and entertainment
  • Experience managing teams, directing workflow, delegating tasks and mentoring direct reports
  • Understanding of working with brands outside of direct music industry (e.g. within Tech, Lifestyle)
  • Deep understanding of contracting and negotiating with musicians and creative talent
  • Extensive network in the music, entertainment, culture and creative industries
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly skilled with Google Suite, Adobe Creative Cloud (inc. Premiere, InDesign and Photoshop), Logic Pro, Pro Tools
  • Digital Advertising Platforms (inc. Meta, Google and Tiktok)
  • Distribution platforms
  • FTP platforms and DDEX
