Monitoring Officer, Band 3 Full Time Position


To audit and support hospital services and depts in ensuring high standards of waste segregation are attained within the Trust.

Undertake auditing and monitoring exercises Trust wide against agreed specifications i.e.

The Health Technical Memorandum 07-01: Safe Management of Healthcare Waste (HTM07-01) and other key performance indicators (KPIs) within our external contracts.

To input data and provide reports for areas monitored to enable any remedial action to be undertaken.

To monitor all aspects of both clinical and domestic waste segregation and disposal. Provide training and support to areas where shortfalls have been recognised.

Record all audit and training information in report form and use monitoring software and data bases as directed by the Facilities Management and other services throughout the Directorate as required.

Supporting compliance with Patient Led Assessment of the Care Environment (PLACE)

HUTH has two main sites:
Hull Royal Infirmary and Castle Hill Hospital with an annual budget of approximately £500 million. The Trust employs around 11,000 staff and serves an extended population of 1.25 million, delivering a number of outpatient services from locations across the area, extending from Scarborough in North Yorkshire to Grimsby and Scunthorpe in North East and North Lincolnshire respectively
