Band 3 Higher Appointments Clerk - Flexible working 8:00 am - 8:00 pm Monday - Friday


An exciting opportunity has arisen in Radiology on the RLUH site for a motivated and proactive individual to become part of a busy and friendly appointment team.

The role can often be varied and complex but with a high level of job satisfaction.

Duties will include managing an electronic appointment diary and dealing with telephone enquiries from other Trusts and GP's.


Experience of booking Radiology modalities with knowledge of a range of procedures and given protocols regarding these examinations is essential.


In addition to general clerical duties the role requires accessing patients confidential record data and undertaking a variety of administrative tasks associated with patients' appointments.

Experience of booking radiology modalities for LUFT using the RIS appointment diaries.

To participate in administrative and clerical duties.

To maintain confidentiality at all times

To have a knowledge of a range of procedures and given protocols regarding examinations.

To explain waiting lists to patients concerning appointment times.

Liaising with Consultants regarding complex cases.

Retrieval of request forms leading to ensure timely vetting and prioritisation of requests.

Issuing of appointment letters and relevant preparation.

Working to department protocol regarding the delivery and advice of preparation and appropriate medicines
