Job Description

A vacancy now exists for a Finance Developer to join our Finance team within Smethwick. In this role the candidate will report to the Senior Finance Manager - Transport & Fleet.

Key responsibilities of this role include:

Reporting of Weekly Financial KPIs and metrics Supporting the preparation, presentation and commentary for weekly costs reporting to senior managers Support relevant business projects of an operational, commercial or financial nature as required and provide root cause analysis Extract, transform and load data into data warehouses Ownership and management of operational finance data within Google BigQuery Manipulate data using SQL in Google BigQuery (or equivalent database) in order to link financial and operational data sets Use Google Suite to create dashboards and reports for Senior Managers Review and redesign existing processes with the aim of standardising and streamlining reporting Leading workshops and meetings to gather, shape and challenge data requirements to allow the development of effective solutions Challenging Operational stakeholders and identifying opportunities for process efficiencies and EBIT improvements Business partner with operational teams at all levels to translate financial information into actionable insights and recommendations Train and develop junior team members in finance processes and data management and transformation Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance Any other tasks that might be reasonably requested

Qualifications

The successful candidate will need to:

Strong working knowledge of relational databases and proficient with SQL scripts Familiarity with accounting principles and practices A willingness to challenge all reporting and operational practices Be able to Business Partner at all levels Be able to self-manage their workload and prioritise tasks according to deadlines, importance and urgency. Have a problem solving attitude with the drive to delivering results Have strong analytical skills and be able to present results in a simple and clear manner Be proactive in looking for continuous improvement in your area of responsibility and beyond Have a keen eye for detail and produce work to an excellent presentation standard Positive 'can-do' attitude is crucial for this role
