The Parliamentary Policy and Strategy Team operates within the Ministerial Strategy Directorate at the Department for Business and Trade (DBT), focusing on leading strategic engagement with Parliament for all DBT operations. The primary objective is to offer a strategic approach to parliamentary involvement throughout the Department, providing expert guidance to Ministers and DBT teams.
This role presents an exciting opportunity to take the lead on parliamentary engagement concerning DBT's trade portfolio, which includes involvement in trade agreements, promoting exports, and ensuring economic security.
You will play a crucial role in ensuring teams comprehend the rationale behind engaging with Parliament and take charge in formulating engagement strategies with both the House of Commons and House of Lords within your portfolio's policy realms.
It is essential for Parliamentarians to grasp the Department's initiatives. Your responsibilities involve spearheading efforts to effectively communicate the Department's positive endeavors to Parliament, collaborating with policy and communication teams, ministerial private offices, and special advisors.
We seek an individual who is deeply passionate about the parliamentary landscape. You should feel comfortable discussing parliamentary processes and procedures with policy colleagues and private offices, ensuring that the products generated by other teams resonate with parliamentary concerns.
You will collaborate closely with the Parliamentary Unit and other teams within the Parliamentary Policy and Strategy group.
