Main duties of the job

We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated, and forward-thinking Emergency Preparedness Response and Resilience (EPRR) Officer to join our EPRR team. The team is responsible for the provision of professional and expert advice, guidance, information, training, and support to Trust Colleagues on all matters relating to EPRR, this includes business continuity and major incident planning.

Qualifications

Essential criteria

Degree in Emergency Planning or equivalent. Diploma in Health EPRR Or Experience of working in the NHS or Public Sector with responsibility for emergency planning and/or Business Continuity.

Experience

Essential criteria

Working with partners leading on policy review and implementation. Experience of working across staff groups and delivering training to the needs of each specialty. Supporting the delivery of multi-agency exercises that test emergency and business continuity programmes. Support the development of population wide protection plans such as flu pandemic, heatwave, evacuation etc. Responsibility for a range of policy interpretation, implementation and policy development. Facilitation of debrief and after action reviews.

Knowledge

Essential criteria

In-depth knowledge of the principles underpinning integrated emergency management. In-depth knowledge of key legislation and guidance underpinning EPRR functions. Knowledge of complex organisations and their inter-relationships. Provide specialised advice concerning the care of identified groups in response to major incidents.

Skills

Essential criteria

Provide and receive complex, sensitive or contentious information, where developed persuasive, motivational, negotiating, training, empathetic or reassurance skills are required. Ability to critically analyse and interpret a range of complex facts, situations and information. Project management. Excellent organisation, work planning and prioritisation skills. Ability to concentrate for long periods of time intensely and with frequent interruptions. Keyboard and IT skills incorporating Microsoft office and Excel to enable the post holder to provide in-depth situational reports and presentations.

Professional and positive attitude. Willingness to take ownership for the delivery of service to a high standard. Flexibility in working hours. Basic level of physical fitness to enable delivery of specialist training
