£28,131 to £29,762 with progression to £32,411 per annum

The Role

Thank you for your interest in our Education Team Leader role. This is an exciting role in a large team working together to effectively deliver our medical degree programmes. Your role will be to lead a team to deliver in-course assessments and exams for our medical students'.

You will take responsibility for the assessment preparation and prioritisation of work across your team, whilst working together as part of the wider team supporting the full student lifecycle.


Assessment delivery will be your main focus, but you will also get involved in other aspects of programme delivery at key points in the academic year, including: admissions, curriculum, placements in the UK and overseas, student experience, student wellbeing and many more business functions.

As well as working with the immediate team in the University, assessment delivery also includes working with our key partners in the NHS and our NUMed campus in Malaysia.


This is a fast-paced role and, at times, can be pressurised and occasionally may require working outside of normal hours.

We are seeking someone with advanced Excel skills, a confident communicator with excellent organisational and interpersonal skills, and an aptitude for quickly building positive working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels.

You will work successfully as part of the wider team, as well as an individual, prioritising your own workload to meet demand and deadlines.

Although training and ongoing support will be provided, it is essential you have the ability to navigate complex systems quickly and effectively.

The role is full-time at 37 hours per week. We would be happy to discuss arrangements for flexible and/or blended working.

Key Accountabilities

  • Preparation of assessments and examination results and feedback, ensuring records are accurately recorded on university systems and databases
  • Oversee processes for adjustments for students with wellbeing or personal extenuating circumstances
  • Act as secretary for Module Moderation Boards and Boards of Examiners, including agenda preparation, minute taking and follow up actions
  • Provide guidance to students and academic staff on nonstandard requests and respond to requests for studentbased management information
  • Work with the wider team to ensure effective administrative functions for learning and teaching across the student lifecycle
  • Supervision of clerical and administrative staff within the assessment team, including recruitment, induction, reward, and performance management
  • Assist the Learning and Teaching Manager with appeals, complaints, and quality enhancement/accreditation processes
  • Manage student placements, research project distribution, and attendance monitoring
  • Provide administrative support to School Committees and maintain accurate records
  • Ensure compliance with policy re
