We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced professional to join our small and friendly team as the Voice and Participation Co-Ordinator for the Suffolk and North East Essex Integrated Care Partnership.

This pivotal role will ensure there is a consistent approach to participation, involvement and co-production, which removes barriers and embraces the diverse range of voices and lived experience in our system to help shape our health and care services.

You will have a strong track record of leading engagement, involvement and co-production programmes of work and be passionate about championing the voice of people with lived experience and from seldom heard groups. You will provide expertise, advice and guidance to health colleagues in relation to how they involve communities and utilise best practice and existing research and knowledge. You will also undertake and lead specific programmes of work that strengthen voice and participation within the ICS.

You will have a very positive, 'can do' attitude and be able to prioritise, plan and organise your time efficiently and effectively. No two days will be the same in this varied and flexible role. If you are as comfortable spending a day with the team as you are working independently and confidently with new people, this could be the job for you.

Main duties of the job
  • Co-ordinating advice, tools, resources and capacity to enable involvement, participation, and co-production responding to enquiries and providing specialist advice to ICB colleagues and other NHS staff to support their engagement activity.
  • Supporting involvement at place and neighbourhood working with the 3 ICB Alliances to establish and co-ordinate appropriate forums to ensure high quality lived experience participation and co-production with staff, patients, carers and the public to reflect voice at place and neighbourhood level.
  • Plan, organise and facilitate specific engagement opportunities with communities around complex subjects or highly sensitive areas of work to reach and engage the public on matters of health and care transformation and present the findings in structured and objective reports and presentations.
  • Embed good practice in participation, involvement and co-production co-ordinating the collation of insight from engagement activity and best practice into a central repository to capture, share and evidence activity.
  • Support and contribute to networks and forums engaging with networks across the ICS.
  • Build relationships and remove barriers to partnership to ensure system engagement is well led, effective and inclusive, ensuring that views are heard and inform commissioning and transformation activity.

  • Relevant degree or equivalent qualification or significant experience of working at degree level
  • Management / leadership qualification or equivalent knowledge
  • Evidence of continued professional development

  • Experience of data analysis and report writing
  • Developing and leading partnerships and stakeholder management
  • Experience of successfully operating in a politically sensitive environment with diverse stakeholder input
  • In-depth understanding of patient-centred care and patient experience and engagement, and how to use this to influence positive change
  • Experience of group facilitation
  • Project management/co-ordination
  • Experience of influencing service development and quality improvement.
Knowledge and Skills Essential
  • Knowledge in service users and carer involvement, co-creation / co-production, and the challenges of embedding this way of working.
  • Understanding of health inequalities, and knowledge of working with diverse communities and in areas of deprivation
  • Knowledge of patient confidentiality and data protection issues
  • Understanding of the needs of individuals from diverse social, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds
  • Strong understanding of strategic landscape and delivery plans
  • Use of IT systems (e.g. Word , Excel, Outlook) - standard keyboard skills
  • Understanding of the NHS and Integrated Care Systems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to liaise and communicate clearly with a wide range of people from different sectors and at all levels of an organisation.
  • Good attention to detail and accuracy
