Purpose
:

YOU will report to the Response Line Team Manager and will be responsible for: supporting Response Line workers throughout their shift, triaging the chat and Response Line queue, providing line management, including regular one to ones; host regular team meetings; develop and implementing team processes; coordinating Response Line Rota, developing and delivering training for new and existing staff

ABOUT YOU:

- **Experience of supervising staff** or volunteers and delivering and developing training

  • A natural communicator who is
    sensitive to people's individual situations and values the contribution of all stakeholders.
  • Excellent
    organisational and time management skills and ability to make decisions and use professional expertise.
  • Able to work across
    diverse communities and to work in an inclusive working environment.
  • You enjoy connecting with people on a deeper level and can
    talk about difficult and challenging issues sensitively and with respect.
  • You have had exposure to / experience with / interest in
    social care and health, particularly as it relates to working with carers.
  • You can easily travel across West Sussex if it is needed, although this role is primarily homebased.
  • You have the UK right to work and are prepared to undertake relevant background checks, including references and DBS.

KEY DUTIES:

  • YOU will manage
    a team of staff and volunteers and will
    provide mentoring to volunteers learning about our carer services.
  • YOU will provide supervision and guidance to Response Line Workers both informally and formally through one to ones, including support with managing Calendars.
  • YOU will know of/learn about the
    Think Carer principles and promote them across all networks, including best practice knowledge, understanding of local/national carer landscape and raising awareness of carer issues.
  • YOU will
    partner with local health, social care and voluntary sector organisations to enable carers to access timely and appropriate support.
  • YOU will record/
    report using our outcomebased tools and systems to
    evidence the work we do for the community and identify any areas for improvement.
  • YOU will
    support/report to Response Line Manager through data quality, crosschecks and audits.
  • YOU will work own shift on Response Line (minimum 1 shift per fortnight) to provide frontline support to Carers.
