The Opportunity
QBE Europe is seeking a talented Senior Reinsurance Accountant to be part of the Global Reinsurance Finance and Operations team in London. In this position, you will handle processing, analyzing, and reporting financial transactions and information. You will assist with general accounting, RI Finance Close processes, and preparing various management reports regularly.
Your New Role
- Ownership of the Reinsurance Finance Close plan reporting to the general Finance Close Manager.
- Ownership of all Reinsurance Finance Interfaces including finance inputs for upstream and downstream interfaces.
- Preparation and review of the Reinsurance to GL reconciliations.
- Preparation of Subledger Reinsurance Journals and analytical reviews.
- Responding to Reinsurance Audit Queries and assisting with the RI migration project's finance responsibilities.
- Assisting with miscellaneous finance tasks.
About You
- Accounting Degree or Qualified Accounting Certification Required.
- Knowledge of RI Facultative and Treaty structures preferred.
- Prior experience in Reinsurance and Insurance Accounting operations and finance required.
- Exposure to project management, process remediation, and transition states is preferred.
- Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships at all levels.
- Familiarity with Oracle, Peoplesoft, or other GL systems preferred.
- Experience with System changes, System implementations, and Database modeling is a plus.
- Strong skills in spreadsheets, data analysis, and reconciliation procedures.
