Our delivery teams are responsible for a variety of customer support matters which range from processing customer compensation claims to complaints handling, group bookings and assisted/special services, quality assurance and fraud prevention and detection and retails sales to individuals and corporates.

The Business integrity and Compliance Team are responsible for all fraud Control activities within FCC, together with providing the Data Protection/Privacy and ISMS compliance function.

Reporting to the Counter Fraud & Privacy Manager, the role will support the day-to-day administration, monitoring, investigation of data protection requests/issues and privacy enhancements across all FCC products.


Your main responsibilities will be:

  • Support the Business Integrity and Compliance Team with various tasks, ensuring the organisation's compliance to the Data protection Act 2018, GDPR UK and any other applicable privacy legislation.
  • Act as the contact point for incident response, ensuring timely and appropriate action.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of data protection policies and procedures to support compliance.
  • Collaborate with relevant departments to ensure Privacy consideration are integrated into new projects and initiatives.
  • Maintain records of data processing activities, risk assessments, and compliance documentation.
  • Work with internal and external auditors to address findings and implement corrective actions.
  • Raise awareness of data protection responsibilities and importance of privacy throughout the organisation.
  • Produce reporting for internal and external stakeholders.

You'll need to be:

  • Proactive 'problem resolver', owning and resolving issues; a selfstarter who is resultsdriven with high levels of selfmotivation and initiative.
  • Proven ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines.
  • Logical, methodical, and persistent, with a keen eye for detail
  • Able to build strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Certification in data protection or privacy is a desirable.

As a minimum, you will need to have:

  • Knowledge of the Rail Industry.
  • A good Knowledge of data protection laws and regulations.
  • A good knowledge of fraud types and data protection.
  • Experience in developing and implementing data protection policies and procedures.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for training and awareness initiatives.
  • Good knowledge of IT systems including MS suite and ability to adapt to bespoke CRM systems.

About the location
Sheffield city centre. Ten minutes' walk from Sheffield Station. Travel to other UK locations as appropriate.

Working pattern
37.5 hours per week, between 0800 and 1800 Monday to Friday; some weekend working by exception.
