At the heart of our operations lie the Project Café report series, showcasing primary research on the branded coffee chain market, along with the annual Great British Coffee Shop Survey, consolidating insights from over 40,000 consumers across the UK.

Role Description

Being a Coffee Lead Researcher holds immense significance within the research team at World Coffee Portal. Your primary research will directly contribute to the publications of Allegra reports, and you will spearhead the recruitment and management of a dynamic team of external research partners globally to gather time-critical information.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct research following World Coffee Portal's exclusive research framework
  • Perform market research on coffee across various global regions
  • Coordinate the external research team to ensure consistent high performance
  • Contribute to monthly online client seminars presenting World Coffee Portal data
  • Develop extensive knowledge of major coffee markets, brand profiles, and consumer trends
  • Conduct detailed interviews and circulate industry surveys among key players
  • Expand the Allegra contacts database by fostering a broad spectrum of industry connections
  • Support the team in meeting ad hoc client needs for customized projects
  • Possibly involve travel to other countries for primary data collection

Role Requirements

  • Minimum two years of experience in market research
  • Pure passion for coffee and profound understanding of the broader industry
  • Solid organizational, logistical, and time management skills
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication prowess
  • Innate ability to distinguish between reliable and unreliable data sources
  • Diligent, well-organized team player with a positive outlook
  • Capable of multitasking across various projects and meeting deadlines
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel & PowerPoint
  • Must already be located in London, UK

Role Desirables

  • Prior experience in a leadership role in research
  • University degree or higher
  • Proficiency in using IBM SPSS Statistics

Contract: Permanent, full-time

Salary: £36,000 OTE (£34,000 per year + £2,000 bonus potential depending on performance)

Working Hours: 40 hours per week

Location: Hybrid setup with the main office in Camden, London
