Project Support Officers to join our
Delivery Group team within the
Digital & Technology group.


These are
full-time opportunities,
1 on a permanent basis and
1 on a 18-month fixed term contract/internal move or temporary promotion basis.

The roles can be based in 10 South Colonnade, Canary Wharf London, E14 4PU or South Mimms, Hertfordshire. Please be aware that this role can only be worked in the UK and not overseas.

Government departments and agencies are working towards implementing a minimum 60% attendance in office sites.


We are currently implementing a flexible, hybrid way of working, with a minimum of 4 days per month working on site to enable the collaboration and contact with partners and stakeholders needed to deliver MHRA business.

Attendance on site is driven by business needs so depending on the nature of the role, this can flex up to 8 days a month, with the remainder of time worked either remotely or in the office.

Some roles will need to be on site more regularly. Remote working is potentially available for some specific roles. Please discuss this with the recruiting manager before accepting an appointment._ _

The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency enhance and improve the health of millions of people every day through the effective regulation of medicines and medical devices, underpinned by science and research.


Digital and Technology (D&T) lies at the heart of the Agency and is responsible for delivering an optimised IT infrastructure and maximising the secure use of data to enable the rest of the organisation to deliver world class services.

Its Centre of Excellence is also responsible for delivering a broad portfolio of change initiatives, both to transform the Agency's legacy technologies and to deliver innovative new solutions, designed around our customers' needs.


The Delivery Group function is responsible for providing a Delivery Centre of Excellence to drive an agile approach to technology-based change to deliver minimum viable products (MVP) and continuous improvements and managing all stages of the product development and implementation lifecycle, including, but not limited to, business case creation, benefits realisation planning, and management of risks.


What's the role?


This role covers a diverse range of activities to support the delivery of the project's objectives and enables the smooth running of the project by supporting the project manager through the operation of project management processes, and the co-ordination of business management actions and activities on their behalf.


Key responsibilities:

  • Planning and Scheduling
  • Ensure systems are in place to enable effective planning and scheduling.


Monitoring & Reporting
  • Manage project controls, reporting to the Project Manager about the project status. Develop project performance reports.


Admin
  • Ensure organisational tasks are carried out efficiently. Manage compliance of the project with Departmental Security, Health & Safety, Equality & Diversity, Business Continuity and Business Planning.


Resources
  • Lead a team responsible for identifying, developing and deploying resources. Manage workforce planning, providing information for effective decision making to the Project Manager. Procurement of supplies and services related to project support within Delegated Financial Authority limits.


Risks & Issues
  • Lead potential risk areas, working with risk manager and escalating as appropriate.
  • Financial tracking for projects, raising SoWs, purchase orders and working with our commercial procurement teams to ensure supplier contracts are managed and maintained.

  • Communicate in a straightforward, honest and engaging manner, choosing appropriate styles to maximise understanding and impact.
  • Have experience in all aspects of project support i.e. scheduling, risk & issue management, change control, finance tracking and governance.
  • Work with others to identify areas for improvement and simplify processes to use fewer resources and use technology where possible to increase efficiency.
  • Have experience to evaluate and promote best practices and lessons learned to create a culture of learning and good practice.
